November 2021
Time changes and changing times …
If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you might have ‘changed time’ over the weekend, turning your clock one hour back from Summer time to Winter time. (If you live in the Southern Hemisphere, you were ahead of the game and changed to Summer time several weeks ago!) But wherever you live in the world, times are changing here at vedic-astrology.teachable.com. In January 2022, the “Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program” will turn 2, meaning some of our online students are in their final weeks of video and audio lecture content. This is the perfect time to address issues of certification …
Would you like to be a ‘certified’ Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprentice?
Before the “Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program” was on teachable.com, it was delivered directly by Ryan Kurczak and involved assessment during and at the end of each semester. For Apprentices who successfully completed the program (all 9 semesters’ assessments PLUS the one-year practicum) Ryan offered recognition by issuing a certificate and listing the Apprentice on his website.
Would you like this opportunity too?
If so, keep your eye on this blog because I am working with Ryan on exactly that. It would involve you investing in
having all your work assessed (in order i.e. starting with Rasis and Signs) and
a practicum year (of supervised readings, research papers and video seminars)
Keep in mind, that of the more than 60 students who started with Ryan each year, very few have made it to certification. The assessments are hard and the level expected is high! And this will continue to be the case if you are seeking certification through the online version of the Apprenticeship on teachable.com.
As I design the assessment platform, procedure and infrastructure over the next month, the guiding principle will be, if you have demonstrated all the knowledge, skills and competencies through the assessment process of the program, you can receive certification.
Watch this space for exciting developments! and contact me if you wish to discuss certification in the meantime.
Meet our Mentors and Tutors
The Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program is self-paced BUT there are Mentors and Tutors available to help you if you ever feel the need. (Details available from the course list after Class 7 of the Rasi and Signs course).
Mentors are current Year 4 students.
Tutors are graduates of the Program.
Each month, I’ll share the profile of a Mentor or Tutor so you can find the right match for you!
This month, I have the pleasure of introducing Heloísa! (Apologies for the noises of Lisbon in the background!!) She is a current Year 4 student, fluent in English and Portuguese. She undertook the program while working full-time. If you are taking the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program and English is not your first language, or if you are juggling a job and your studies, Heloísa could be a great choice of mentor for you.
Here, she answers two burning questions …
what was your favourite semester of the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program?
what was your study strategy?
I’d love to hear your answers to these questions too - why don’t you use this link to let me know!
I hope you will reach out to Heloísa or any of our Mentors and Tutors if you are ready to invest in one-to-one support with the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program on teachable.com.
Final thoughts
As you read this newsletter, our current year 4s are handing in their final instalment of papers, videos and supervised readings due on November 5!!! And our Year 3s are working their way towards their ‘Timing and Dasas’ exam in early December 2021!! Let’s wish them all ‘Good luck’ and best wishes with these significant milestones!
I look forward to catching up with you all again in December with more news of the assessment procedure for certification of vedic-astrology.teachable.com students. Until then, stay well and keep taking notes :D
