Harry 5.jpg

The 7th house represents partners, exchange and living in foreign countries.  Planets in the 7th house can show the qualities that we undervalue in ourselves and seek out in others.  The seventh house in this chart has 4 indicators for prosperity and 5 for annihilation.

7.1        Person’s Life Experience

Prince Harry is married, has travelled extensively and is currently residing in a foreign country.  He is not known for trade or business partnerships.

7.2        Sign

Cancer is an active water sign.  It is a sattvic and moksha sign.  Its animal is a crab, standing in the water, symbolising the ability to navigate emotions.

Prince Harry has chosen a partner who is emotionally open and confident in expressing her feelings.  As the 7th house often represents the qualities a person feels they lack, Harry might have wanted to choose someone who could navigate emotions like a crab, being effective in both the watery and physical worlds.  Coincidentally, Meghan Markle’s ascendant is in Cancer.

7.3        Planet

The Moon rules the seventh house.  The Moon is a gentle, adaptable, feminine, wet, watery planet with a vata constitution.  The Moon represents the mind, the emotions and the masses.

The Moon in this chart is in its Moolatrikona sign and is the strongest planet in Shad bala.  The only bala that is somewhat weak is Ayana bala which relates to a person’s approach to conflict.  When the Moon is strong in Ayana bala it can adapt to reality when something unexpected occurs.  In Harry’s case, the Moon becomes rigid and stuck in how something should have happened.  Harry’s response to his mother’s death demonstrates the Moon’s Ayana bala.  His emotions became stuck and he blamed the press for her death.  (See Harry blog posts - sections 1.4.1, 6.1, 5.4.2, 12.2, 12.5.1, 12.5.2)  Even when a planet is doing well, it is important to note that the individual bala strengths can have a strong impact on the person’s experience.  (N.B. The fact that the Moon is isolated, conjunct Rahu and starving Mercury are important corroborating factors in this case.)

7.4        Bhava Yogas

7.4.1        Ascendant Yogas

For a Capricorn ascendant, the Moon helps pull the person into the flow of life.  The Moon makes them feel socially responsible, bringing their utilitarian approach to caring for others and the world.  Harry champions foundations that practically help people’s experience of suffering (see previous Harry blog posts - sections 3.3, 6.4.1).  The beneficiaries of Harry’s charities are often people in situations to which Harry witnessed actual ‘others’ suffer i.e. fellow soldier, fellow children, fellow sufferers of mental health issues.  His practical experiences of ‘others’ (7th house) have inspired his alturism.

7.4.2        7th in the 5th

Prince Harry’s Moon is in his 5th house.  This is a powerful combination of an angular lord in a dharmic house where that lord is Exalted (or in this case, Moolatrikona).  It indicates that a person will be wealthy, well-liked, happy and playful.  Harry is undeniably wealthy and a beloved member of the royal family whose cheeky and playful side is seen as part of his charm.

This yoga also shows how important finding a partner was to Harry’s ability to achieve his legacy.  His own Moon, although in possession of many supportive placements, is conjunct Rahu and starving Mercury leading to challenging indicators for his mind and mental health.  This yoga indicates that the person’s partner will be intellectually stimulating and help them manage their affairs.  Meghan Markle's emotional confidence and ability to manage her own life demonstrate this yoga and can explain Prince Harry's instant attraction to her (see Harry Blog - section 10.4.1).  As the Moon (which represents Harry’s partner) is with Rahu, a partner of unusual origins is indicated.  Meghan’s biracial background and her status as a divorcee and a foreigner become apt in this context.
